Caño Cristales, or the Rainbow River is a river located in city of Columbia, in the United States, and Found in the mountains of Serranía de la Macarena.

The Rainbow colors in the river is caused by a special phenomenon, a plant called: Macarenia clavigera that grows in a special time in the year, which turns the river into explosions of red variations, plus the effect from black rocks, algae, and yellow sand producing a natural painting with the complete palette of colors. The Macarenia clavígera blossoms four months in the year only, from July to October, but you can still see them in November.
