CAIRO – 1 July 2017: The German club Werder Breman has announced on July 2 their refusal to give Claudio Pizarro a 1-year renewal contract to give chances to the youth players.

Claduio Pizarro is considered to be one of the most influential strikers in the history of the Bundesliga (German League).

The director of Werder Breman, Frank Baumann said to Bremen’s official website, “We signaled to Claudio in the middle of May that we would probably not extend his contract.”

Baumann added to the club’s website, “Claudio is a legend and he will get the best possible farewell for a player at Werder Bremen: his own farewell game. This honor has only been shared by a few Werderans so far."

Reporting from Sportskeeda. Pizarro respected the club’s opinion by saying, "It was always a great honor for me to wear the Werder Bremen shirt. The club, the city and the fans will always have a special place in my heart.”

Citing from Sportskeeda, Pizarro concluded by saying, "I would have liked to play for Werder, but I accept the club's decision."

Pizarro is the all time goal scorer of Werder Bremen with a record of 104 goals in the Bundesliga, as reported from OptaFranz’s official twitter account. However, the Peruvian international 38 year old striker was able to score only 1 goal from 19 appearances being affected by injuries.
