CAIRO –22 June 2017: Zamalek Portuguese head coach Augusto Inacio complained on Wednesday about the referees of the the second leg match against USM Alger, according to a statement published on the Zamalek website.

Inacio declared that his opponent was a very strong competitor in the game, after Zamalek lost 2-0 against USM Alger in Algeria. He accused the referees of being biased against Zamalek.

He added that if the team played the first leg game with the same refereeing level Zamalek would have won and never tired, he also said the referees did not give his team the chance to win or even tie.

However, Zamalek has a chance to qualify to the next round if the team wins the next two games.

“I agree that Zamalek’s problem is wasting chances and we will seek to solve it, and I repeat that the referee was against us and gave the other team the chance to waste time,” Inacio added.

Zamalek has lost its fourth game of the group stage in CAF African Champions League by 2-0 against USM Alger to fall back to the third place of group B with five points.

The victory gave USM Alger the lead in the group with seven points and the goal difference on their side over Al-Ahly Tripoli, which also has seven points after it won their last game against the fourth team of the group, Caps United.
