CAIRO – 22 June 2017: Giuseppe Marotta, Juventus’ CEO, announced Wednesday that Dani Alves will leave Juventus, according to Reuters.

Alves played one year for Juventus after leaving Barcelona in 2016.

“Dani Alves told us he wants to try an alternative experience, so we will terminate the contract by mutual consent and wish him all the best,” Marotta told Calciomercato.com, according to Football ITALIA.

“It's not a breakdown of our rapport, as motivation is fundamental for a player,” Marotta said.

Rumors linked Alves to a two year contract with the English team Manchester City, where he will rejoin his former Barcelona coach and the current Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola, Reuters reported.

Alves made his mark with Barcelona under Guardiola who had originally signed him to the team. In his first year Alves won six titles under Guardiola.

Dani Alves transferred to Juventus from Barcelona and in his only year with Juventus, he won the Italian League and the Italian Cup. He also played the Champions League final losing 4-1 against Real Madrid.
