CAIRO – 21 June 2017: Wydad Casablanca managed to win Al-Ahly 2-0 in a match that was held on June 21 at Mohamed the Fifth stadium as part of the 4th fixture in the group stages of the CAF Champions League tournament.

Al-Ahly entered the first half looking not to concede a goal and then going on counter attacks to score a goal. While Wydad Casablanca took ball possession and managed to have a few chances that were either saved by Sherif Ekramy, Al-Ahly goalkeeper, or was taken out by the defense.

Junior Ajayi Al-Ahly’s forward was major key player in the first half, where most of the counter attacks were built on him.

At the beginning of the second half Fabrice Ondama, Wydad’s striker, managed to score a goal on the 48th minute. After the goal, Wydad had a few several chances. Then Al-Ahly tried to take control, but with very few chances on the goal.

It was not until the 78th minute when Walid El Karti scored a header after an assist made by Mohamed Ounnajem.

With this result Al-Ahly is first with 7 points, Zanaco is second with 7 points, Wydad third with 6 points, and Coton Sport is last with 0 points. Zanaco has a match in hand against Coton Sport on Wednesday at 4 p.m. local time.

Al-Ahly will be playing Zanaco in the upcoming fixture in Zambia on July 1, while Wydad will play against Coton Sport in Cameroon also on July 1.
