CAIRO – 26 March 2020: Real Madrid Belgian winger, Eden Hazard, believes that his first season at Real Madrid did not go as expected after the player missed most of the season due to injury.

“My first season at Madrid has been bad, but none all of it. "It's been a season of adaptation. I will be judged on the second one. It is up to me to be in good shape next year.” Hazard said during an interview with Marca.

Hazard joined Real Madrid last summer from Chelsea and he was considered as Real Madrid’s replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo who left the club to join Juventus in 2018 summer.

Hazard added "The group is good; it's been a great experience for me. I still have four years left on my contract."

The Belgian winger revealed his disappointment following the postponement of UEFA EURO 2020 due to the spread of coronavirus.

“I was expecting to reach it, so I was disappointed by the change. I had planned to play it. But I also think there are priorities in life.” Hazard added.

Hazard is one of his national team’s key players and he hopes to be in his best form next year to be ready for the EURO finals.
