CAIRO - 20June 2017: Tunisian race walker Chahinez Nasri succeeded in breaking the Arab and African records in the 5,000-meter race walk at the Michel Musson course in France on Saturday.

The 21-year-old Tunisian completed the distance in 21:23.85 minutes, breaking the old record 21:49.27, according to Super Kora. The record stands for both Arab and African competitions.

The participation of the Tunisian team at the Michel Musson Forum in France is part of its preparations for the athletics World Championships, which will be hosted by England from August 3-14.

In preparation for the same world event Tunisia will organize the Arab Athletics Championships, which will be held at the athletics stadium at Rades, Tunisia from July 15-18. A number of Arab countries are expected to participate.
