CAIRO –19 June 2017: The Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal began his grass ground training on Monday in his native city of Palma de Mallorca in preparation for Wimbledon, which will take place in two weeks in England.

Eight days after winning his 10th French Open (Roland Garros) title, Nadal trained for the first time in two years on a grass court of the Mallorca Open tournament, Super Kora reported.

Nadal’s uncle and former coach, Antonio Nadal Homar, said his nephew will continue training all week.

Nadal, who has decided not to participate in any tournaments until the start of Wimbledon, is looking forward to getting into shape at the Mallorca courts complex as the court ground is similar to Wimbledon’s.

If Nadal performs well at Wimbledon and Andy Murray fails to win the title Nadal could reclaim first place at the ATP rankings.
