CAIRO – 11 October 2019: Barcelona winger, Ansu Fati, earned his first call to represent the U-21 Spanish national team against Montenegro after he acquired the Spanish passport.

Barcelona wonder kid took the league by storm after he was promoted to the Catalan’s first team and established himself as a key player at the first team.

Fati scored two goals during four games with his club but e suffered a muscular injury and was forced to miss Barcelona clashes against Getafe and Seville at the league as well as missing Inter Milan game at the UEFA Champions League.

Fati, born in Guinea Bissau, has the chance to represent his home nation or Spain where he was raised since he was six when he moved with his family to Sevilla.

Spanish national team manager, Roberto Moreno, praised the player and revealed that he could be among the team squad at EURO 2020.

“I'm not ruling out the fact that he could play at Euro 2020. It would be foolish to say that he will not go. He has broken the system in terms of players in specific age groups. Hopefully he can help the U21s with qualifying.” Moreno said.
