CAIRO – 12 September 2019: Egyptian referee, Gehad Grisha, has been appointed to take charge of the clash between Tunisian giants, Etoile du Sahel, and Al Shabab of Jordan at 2019–20 Arab Club Champions Cup round of 32.

The defending champions, Etoile du Sahel, aim to bounce back as they lost the first leg 2-1 in Jordan.

Al-Ittihad Alexandria and Ismaily are representing Egypt at the competition known as Mohammed VI Champions Cup.

Al-Ittihad has a strong start at the competition after they achieved a 1-0 away victory over Kuwait’s Al Araby at the first leg and they will play the second leg on 27 September in Alexandria.

On the other hand, the draw put Ismaily against Libya’s Al-Ahly Benghazi. The first leg will be played on Friday 13 September in Egypt while the second leg will be played two weeks later.

Grisha was among 36 referees including six Africans who were chosen to officiate at the 2018 World Cup in Russia and he officiated England 6-1 victory over Panama at the group stage.

Grisha, who received his international stripes in 2008, is one of the African continent’s experienced referees.

He refereed at the 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2017 African Cup of nations tournaments, 2015 CAF Champions League final, 2016 Olympic Games and 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
