CAIRO _ 9 August 2019: Anfield Stadium in Liverpool hosts the opening game at the Premier League new season when Liverpool hosts Norwich City on Friday.

Liverpool players return to their castle to meet their fans for the first time since they celebrated UEFA Champions League title last season in Madrid, having defeated Tottenham 2-0.

On the other hand, the newly promoted, Norwich City, aims to achieve a good start to the new season and prove their abilities to challenge biggest clubs at the top division.

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, did not sign big names this summer and he believes in is squad to continue their successful run at the League after they finished second last season, one point behind league winners, Manchester City.

“We are a good team together in a very difficult league with a lot of competitors desperate to get the position we are in. Nobody knows how it will look exactly but Sunday showed we will be fine and the rest is what we make of it.” Klopp told press ahead of the opening game.

Liverpool lost Community Shield game against Manchester City on penalty shoot-outs but they were the better side during the game.

The game starts on 9:00 pm.
