AFCON 16th round kicks off; Morocco vs Benin & Uganda vs Senegal

CAIRO - 5 July 2019: The 16th round of the African Cup of Nations kicks off on Friday; some people consider that this round is the real start of the African tournament.

The round starts with two matches between Morocco vs Benin and Uganda vs Senegal.

Morocco vs Benin
Morocco will be the first Arabian team to feature this round after qualifying as first of their group, the opponent will be Benin as they qualify as a third place from Group F.
Morocco, for the first time in their history, won all their three group matches. But it's not enough as many consider the Atlas Lions as AFCON title winner favorites.
While Benin qualified to this round after collecting three points from three draws against Ghana, Cameroon and Guinea Bissau.
The match will be held at Al Salam Stadium at 06:00 p.m. CLT.



Uganda vs Senegal
The second match between title favorites also, Senegal, and Uganda, which presented amazing performance against Egypt in the groups stage.
Senegal led by Sadio Mane, UEFA Champions League winner, came in the second place after Morocco. Senegal won two matches and lost once.
While Uganda featured in this edition of AFCON in a good shape. They won against Democratic of Republic of Congo and Zimbabwe and lost once against Egypt.
The match will be held at Cairo Stadium at 09:00 p.m. CLT.

All the matches will be played at 6 pm, followed by the second game at 9 pm.

Ghana vs Tunisia– 09:00 p.m. - Ismailia Stadium
