CAIRO - 23 June 2019: Egypt continue training sessions in Cairo Military Academy Stadium in preparation for their next match against the Democratic Republic of Congo, scheduled for Wednesday evening at the Cairo Stadium in the second round of the group stage of the African Nations Cup, hosted by Egypt until July 19.

Egypt defeated Zimbabwe 1-0 in the opening game, Nigeria started their journey with a 1-0 victory over Burundi. And the most amusing match was between Madagascar & Guinea which was ended with a 2-2 draw.

The training session is expected to witness the mistakes made by the players during the Zimbabwe match, especially the defensive positioning in the line of defense, as well as individual performance after Aguirre’s statements after the match.

"The only negative thing I saw was the gaps in our midfield. Zimbabwe's pace moves caused us some problems," the Mexican boss said.

"We still wasted some goal-scoring chances but we will work on correcting our mistakes." He added.

Egyptian players, who gained their first three points at the competition, hope to achieve the eighth title at the competition.

Egypt plays in Group A alongside Zimbabwe, DR Congo and Uganda.

Group winners and runners-up qualify for the knockout second round along with the best four of the six third-place finishers.
