CAIRO – 17 June 2019: Egypt national team left Borg El Arab on Monday afternoon to Cairo where they will play their games at 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

The team defeated Guinea 3-1 on Sunday night at their last preparation game for the competition held in Egypt between 21 June and 19 July.

Marwan Mohsen opened the score for Egypt at the first half which ended with a 1-0 lead for the Egyptians.

At the second half, the team manager, Javier Aguirre, made many substitutions including Mohamed Salah who played the last 30 minutes at the game.

Guinea equalized the score seconds after Salah substitutions by Sory Kaba.

Salah calmed the Egyptian fans about their team ahead of the competition through his one man show performance at the last minutes of the game. He provided two assists for Ahmed Ali and Omar Gaber who granted Egypt the victory.

The Egyptian national team started their preparation camp for the 2019 African Cup of Nations at Borg El Arab stadium on June 6.

The team played a friendly game against Tanzania on Thursday night and won the game 1-0.

The tournament takes place with the participation of 24 teams in six groups for the first time in the history of the African competition.

Egypt plays in Group A alongside the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda and Zimbabwe.
