CAIRO – 10 June 2017: Real Madrid captain Luka Modric revealed what their coach Zinedine Zidane said to the team during the halftime break at the Champions League final against Juventus.

According to the sports website AS on Thursday, Zidane told the team they had to be more aggressive “so Juve wouldn’t be able to keep the ball as easily as they could in the first half,” Modric had revealed. “We were dropping too far back in the first half, and that wasn’t helping us.“

Modric said the team understood his request and adapted in the second half of the match. “It was crucial,” he said. “We are doing something special at the moment, and we have to keep moving forward. This moment won’t last forever.”

Modric played an important role this year in Zidanes squad and formed a great partnership with his team mates Casemiro and Toni Kroos in the midfield.

Modric’s performance earned him the best Croatian player of the year award, voted on by Croatian players and coaches.
