CAIRO – 4 June 2019: Tunisian giants, Espérance, wins their 29th League title and the third title in a row.

Espérance defeated JS Kairouan 4-0 on Monday at the 23th round of the league to win the title with three games remaining.

AdemRejaïbi opened the score for Espérance after 35 minutes and HaythemJouini scored the second goal from the penalty spot while SaadBguir scored twice to secure his team’s victory.

Espérance completed their amazing week as they achieved the CAF Champions League title on Friday night after they defeated Morocco’s Wydad in an unfinished Final.

The match was suspended in the 60th minute as Wydad players refused to complete the match when the referee canceled a goal for the Moroccans and he wasn't able to revise it through VAR as it wasn't working.

Wydad players protested to the Gambian referee, demanding VAR be used, and Confederation of African Football (Caf) president Ahmad Ahmad spent almost 30 minutes in discussions with officials in a bid to get the game restarted.
