CAIRO, 1June 2019: Esperance won the 2019 African Champions League in an unfinished Final. The match was suspended in the 60th minute as Wydad players refused to complete the match when the referee canceled a goal for the Moroccans & he wasn't able to revise it through VAR as it wasn't working.

Wydad players protested to the Gambian referee, demanding VAR be used, and Confederation of African Football (Caf) president Ahmad Ahmad spent almost 30 minutes in discussions with officials in a bid to get the game restarted.

The African Football Confederation (CAF) has announced an emergency meeting of the Executive Committee after the incidents of the match between Tunisia's Esperance Sportive and Morocco's Wydad Casablanca.

It is the first time in the 55-year history of the elite African club competition that a match in the home-and-away final series has not been completed.

Wydad could now face a two-year ban from competing in continental club competition.
