CAIRO –9 June 2017: The Brazilian 23-year-old goalkeeper Ederson deal will break the record of the most expensive goalkeeper since 2001, whereby Gianluigi Buffon moved to Juventus from Parma with £32.6m ($41 million) by signing for Manchester City with £34.7 million 5-year-contract, sky sports reported.

Buffon comes in the second place after being the most expensive goalkeeper 16 years with £32.6 million as he was a phenomenal goalkeeper who helped Juventus to achieve 10 League titles and won with Italy 2006 FIFA World Cup.

The third on the list is the Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea who transferred from Atletico Madrid to Manchester United his current club with £18.3 million six years ago.

De Gea participated in gaining the title of UEFA Europa League for Manchester United, the Spanish’s name linked to move to Real Madrid in this transfer market and it might make another record, according to sky sports.

Manchester City has one of the top 5 expensive goalkeepers with Claudio Bravo costing them £17.1 million after he left Barcelona in the last summer transfer window.

Another Italian goalkeeper joins the top 5 expensive goalkeepers as Angelo Peruzzi coming in the fifth place with £15.7 million in the summer of 2000 moving from Inter Milan to Lazio.
