CAIRO - 25 May 2019: Liverpool's Mohamed Salah is set to join the Egyptian national team on June 8.

Liverpool will face Tottenham Hotspur on June 1 in the UEFA Champions League Final at Metropolitano stadium in Madrid.

The Egyptian national team coaching staff preferred to give Salah some rest after the Champions League Final to be ready for the 2019 AFCON.

Aguirre called the big names beside Liverpool Egyptian winger, Mohamed Salah, like Arsenal’s Mohamed Elneny, Al-Ahly’s Walid Soliman and Ahmed Ali of Arab Contractors who returned to the national team after years of absence.

The squad will join the national team camp in Borg El Arab Stadium on 6 June and they will play two friendly games against Tanzania and Guinea on 13 and 16 June respectively.

Aguirre’s chosen squad consists of:

Goalkeepers: Ahmed El Shenawy, Mohamed El Shenawy, Mahmoud Genesh, Mohamed Abo Gabal

Defenders: Ahmed Elmohamady, Ahmed Hegazi, Omar Gaber, Ali Gazal, Ayman Ahsraf, Mahmoud Hamdy, Baher Elmohamady, Ahmed Ayman Mansour, Mahmoud Alaa, Ahmed Abou-Elfotouh.

Midfielders: Walid Soliman, Abdallah El-Said, Mohamed Elneny, Tarek Hamed, Mahmoud Trezeguet, Amr Warda, Nabil Emad.

Forwards: Ahmed Ali, Mohamed Salah, Marwan Mohsen, Ahmed Hassan Kouka.

The AFCON starts on June 21 and ends on July 19. The tournament takes place with the participation of 24 teams in six groups for the first time in the history of the African competition.

Egypt plays in Group A alongside the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda and Zimbabwe.
