CAIRO – 20 May 2019: Zamalek Swiss manager, Christian Gross, revealed on Sunday that his team still has a big chance to win CAF Confederation Cup title despite losing the final first leg 1-0 on Sundau night in Moroccoto RS Berkane.

Zamalek players were on the verge of returning to Egypt with a draw but a late goal from Berkane’s Togolese striker, Kodjo Fo-Doh Laba, secured the victory for the home side.

“I am so sad because of the loss and the late goal we conceded but we are able to return in the game at the second leg.” Gross told press after the game.

Zamalek will miss Hamdi Naguez and Omar El Said for suspension at the second leg but their first choice goalkeeper, Mahmoud Gennesh, who missed the first leg for suspension will return to the squad.

Gross added “We will do everything to win the title for our fans. I promise the fans and the board that we will fight at the second leg to win.”

Zamalek fans, who are expected to pack Borg El Arab Stadium at the second leg, hopes to see their players lift the cup and put an end to a 17 year drought from African titles.
