CAIRO- 5 May 2019: Egypt's national team was crowned in the 2019 African Cup of Nations Simulation after defeating Côte d'Ivoire team 4/3 during the final match of a championship organized by the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sport from April 27 to May 4.

Held on the playground of El Gezira Youth Center, the tournament saw 23 African teams that will take part in the 2019 African Cup of Nations.

Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhy handed over the cup and first place medals to the players of the national team.

Côte d'Ivoire players were granted the second place medals, while players of the Nigerian team received the third place medals.

The success of the championship simulation model casts optimism about the anticipated African Cup of Nations, set to be hosted by Egypt next June, minister Soby said.
