CAIRO – 23 April 2019: Brazilian midfielder, Arthur Melo, has established himself as one of the key players at Barcelona since he joined the club last summer from Brazil’s Gremio.

The Brazilian’s style of play surprised Barcelona fans and remembered them of their historic midfielder, Xavi Hernandez, who left the club in 2015.

Barcelona manager, Ernesto Valverde, praised the player, saying “He is a player who is very well suited to the style of the club, maybe he would have found it more difficult at another team.”

The Brazilian formed a great partnership with Barcelona veteran, Sergio Busquets and Croatia’s Ivan Rakitic at the club midfield.

Valverde added “He made it into the national team and his career has taken a turn for the better. We are expecting great things from him."

Barcelona are having a good season so far as they are leading the league table with 9 points ahead of second placed, Atletico Madrid and they have reached Spanish Cup Final.

Barcelona also reached UEFA Champions League semis and they will face England giants, Liverpool.

Valverde continued “We are still in contention to win three titles, but at the same time we might end up with none.”
