CAIRO, 11 April 2019: A source from CAF revealed the details of 2019 AFCON draw ceremony which will take place on Friday at the Great Pyramids area.

The source told FilGoal.com that the ceremony starts early when the Cameroonian football legend, Rigober Sung, walks in the Egyptian streets on an open bus until he reaches the draw place in the Pyramids area, with the aim of presenting the trophy to the Egyptian fans.



The 141-minute ceremony includes many artistic, alongside official statemtns for the organizers of the tournament, and spectacular displays of light in the sound and light area, according to the source.

The theme of the ceremony will be the AFCON Draw which will be done by veteran African stars like: Cameroon's Samuel Eto'o, Ivorian Didier Drogba, Nigerian Emmanuel Amoneki, Moroccan Mostafa Hajji and Senegalese El Hadj Diouf, as well as Egyptian star and World’s most international caps, Ahmed Hassan.

The FIFA president will attend the draw alongside CAF President, Ahmad Ahmad, and many African legends including former stars, Didier Drogba and Samuel Eto'o.

The draw is supposed to be held on April 12 in Cairo and the presidents of many African Football Federations will attend the draw.

Egypt won the rights to host the tournament after being selected over South Africa.
The 2019 African Cup of Nations was initially scheduled to be hosted by Cameroon. However, Cameroon was stripped of hosting the tournament for serious delays in preparations.

Egypt is the most successful nation in the history of the competition as Egypt has won a record of seven titles including three in a row between 2006 and 2010.
