CAIRO – 2 April 2019: Arsenal defeated Newcastle United 2-0 on Monday night at home during their game at the 31t round of the Premier League.

Egyptian midfielder, Mohamed Elneny, replaced the injured, Aron Ramsey, at the second half to help his team reach the third place at the league table.

Elneny started the game on bench and watched Ramsey scoring the first goal for Arsenal at the first half which ended with a 1-0 victory for the Gunners.

At the second half, Ramsey suffered a slight injury and left the pitch which gave Elneny the chance to participate at the last 20 minutes.

Minutes before the final whistle, Alexandre Lacazette secured the victory for Arsenal after a fine play with his teammate, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

“We know that we are in the most important moment of the season and we need the players and also the players who are starting on the bench [to make an impact]." Arsenal manager, Unai Emery, said after the game.

Arsenal players hope to secure a spot at UEFA Champions League next season and they are challenging Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Chelsea for the other two spots after Liverpool and Manchester City secured their spots.

Emery added “Tottenham, Manchester United and Chelsea are going to win a lot of games in the last moment in the season and we need also to do that.”
