CAIRO – 2 April 2019: Villarreal hosts Barcelona on Tuesday night at Estadio de la Cerámica during the Spanish League. The hosts hope to gain the three points to escape from the relegation area.

Villarreal comes 17th at the League table with 29 points, one point ahead of the relegation area.

The team known as The Yellow Submarine missed a huge chance to escape relegation area when they lost 3-2 to eighteenth placed, Celta Vigo, on Saturday after they were leading the game 2-0.

On the other hand, Barcelona are having a great season so far under the patronage of their best player, Lionel Messi, who scored twice on Saturday to grant a victory at home over Espanyol at the local derby.

Despite the value that Messi adds to the team, Barcelona fans asked the team manager, Ernesto Valverde, to rest him against Villareal to be ready for the next week decisive clashes against Atletico Madrid at the league and Manchester United at UEFA Champions League quarter finals.

“There is never an ideal time to rest a player like Messi, we think this match is very important. Many are looking ahead to Atletico Madrid, but the three points on offer in this match are much the same as those on offer against Atletico.” Valverde said ahead of the game.

Barcelona are leading the table with 69 points. 10 points ahead of the second placed, Atletico Madrid.
