CAIRO – 27 March 2019: The CAF Referees Committee has selected Egyptian referee, Gehad Grisha, to take charge of the clash between Tunisian giants, Espérance, and CS Constantine of Algeria at the CAF Champions League quarter finals’ first leg.

Walid Ahmed and Tahssin Abo El Sadat will assist Grisha while Mohamed Adel will act as fourth official.

The first leg is scheduled on 6 April at Stade Mohamed Hamlaoui, Constantine and the Algerian club hopes to achieve a comfortable result before playing the second leg in Tunisia.

The winner will face the winner between Tanzania’s Simba and Mazembe of Congo.

Grisha was among 36 referees including six Africans who were chosen to officiate at the 2018 World Cup in Russia and his only appearance came at the group stage when he took charge of England clash against Panama.

Grisha, who received his international stripes in 2008, is one of the African continent’s experienced referees.

He refereed at the 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2017 African Cup of nations tournaments, 2015 CAF Champions League final, 2016 Olympic Games and 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
