ASWAN - 26 March 2019: Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi asserted that Egypt has turned into a hub for international and African sports championships and events, praising the role played by the political leadership in luring international events in the various fields to be held in Egypt.

The minister's remarks were made at the conclusion of Egypt's International Bikes Race, organized by the Egyptian Cycling Federation (ECF) on March 23-26.

As many as 120 competitors from 11 countries took part in the competition.

In statements on Tuesday, the minister voiced happiness over hosting this race in Aswan city to reflect its importance in the tourism and sport fields.

He also thanked Aswan Governor Ahmed Ibrahim for his full cooperation in organizing the event in the Upper Egypt city, noting that hosting such kind of joyful activities would greatly contribute to supporting the Egyptian tourism sector.
