CAIRO – 18 March 2019: Barcelona star, Lionel Messi, has another magical night on Sunday when he led his team to defeat Real Betis at the Spanish League at Benito Villamarín Stadium.

The Argentinean star opened the score from a free kick and doubled the score minutes later after a fine play with his teammate, Luis Suarez.

Suarez added the third goal for Barcelona at the second half while Messi highlighted his magic night with a brilliant goal that led Real Betis fans to applaud the performance of the Argentinean.



“I'm very grateful, it's never happened to me before. They always treat us very well, regardless of whether we're rivals." Messi told press after the game.

Messi’s hat-trick made Barcelona close than ever to the Spanish League title as Barcelona increased the gap at the top to 10 points with 10 games remaining.

Messi added “It's a very important victory today.Goals are important as they allow us to take three points, and we took advantage of a very good opportunity."

Barcelona, who won the domestic double last year, are main contenders to win the treble this season as they reached the Spanish Cup Final and they are leading the League with 10 points.

At Champions League, Barcelona reached the quarter finals and they will face Manchester United.
