Egypt’s Karate team wins 8 medals at African championship

CAIRO – 6 June 2017: Egypt's Karate team is placed at the top of the medal table for the African Karate Championship, held in Cameroon, after taking an impressive haul of 8 medals; with 6 gold, 1 bronze and 1 silver.

Cameroon is in second place, also with a total of 20 medals - 3 gold, 8 silver and 9 bronze - while South Africa sits third after bagging 3 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze.

Twenty-one African Karate teams participated in the 16th African Senior Karate Championship in Cameroon, which was slated to last for three days.
