CAIRO – 7 March 2019: Ismaily coach, Ahmed Kenawy, revealed on Wednesday that they still believe in their chances to reach the next round despite the difficult situation at the group.

“We will do everything to win the remaining games against TP Mazembe in Egypt and Club Africain in Tunisia.” Kenawy told press on Wednesday.

The CAF Champions League draw put Ismaily in Group C alongside Congo’s TP Mazembe, Club Africain of Tunisia and Algeria’s CS Constantine.

Ismaily lost the opening game 2-0 to Mazembe in Congo, while CAF decided to grant Club Africain the three points following Ismaily fans’ aggressive behaviors.

Ismaily was excluded from the competition following their fans’ riot and they were reinstated to the CAF Champions League after a successful appeal against their expulsion.

Kenawy added “Everyone should know that we are building a new team and our players need time to gain the experience of playing at African competitions.”

Ismaily stays at the bottom of the group with one point from a draw against CS Constantine in Alexandria while Mazembe gained seven points to be second at the group.
