CAIRO, 28 February 2019: Tharwat Sewelam, Executive director of Egyptian Football Association, assured that the decision to postpone the Egyptian Cup matches was not issued by the association, but by the Egyptian state due to fierce rivalry between the fans.

“This is the Egyptian state decision; EFA can’t do anything. Fear of clash between the fans of Al Ahly and Zamalek is the reason after the tension became intense. The state wanted to cool down the fans months before hosting the 2019 AFCON.” Tharwat Sewelam said to Radio Hits.
