CAIRO, 28 February 2019: Egyptian Squash players book World Championships’ Semi-final four spots in both Men & Women competitions.

Chicago hosts the World Squash Championship until March 2; it’s confirmed that there will be an Egyptian finalist in squash’s first $1 million tournament.

Mohamed El Shorbagy, World’s number one, set a match with Tarek Moamen, World’s number three, in the World’s semi final. El Shorbagy defeated the Colombian, Miguel Rodriguez, 3-1 in a 61 minute match.

Tarek Moamen awaits El Shorbagy after he defeated the defending champion’s brother, Marwan, in straight games.

Nour El Tayeb, World’s number four, booked the first semi-final spot against her compatriot Renim El Welily, World’s number one.

Momen’s wife, World No.1 El Welily, will join her husband in the semi-finals after she saw off the challenge of World No.8 Nouran Gohar.

Nour El Tayeb ended the run of Hong Kong’s Annie Au, winning 11-5, 11-7, 11-6 in just 25 minutes.
