CAIRO – 25 February 2019: Zamalek board have decided on Monday to suspend the team’s winger, Mahmoud Abdelmonem, known as Kahraba, after insulting the team fans on Sunday night during the team clash against Petro Atletico at CAF Confederation Cup.

“The player is banned from playing with the team until further notice and he is fined EGP 300,000.” Zamalek statement said.

The fans attacked the player after a poor performance at the game and the player responded by Spitting at the stands.

Zamalek suffered on Sunday night against the Angolan team and they were losing the game 1-0 until Youssef Obama secured the draw for Zamalek minutes before the final whistle.

The draw kept Zamalek chances to reach the second round alive but the team needs to gain as many points as they can at the remaining games.

Gor Mahia leads the group with 6 points, two points ahead of Algeria’s NA Hussein Dey and Petro Atletico who share the second place while Zamalek sit at the bottom of the group with two points from two draws at home and a 4-2 loss in Kenya to Gor Mahia.
