Cairo, 21 February 2019: Ittihad Alexandria’s manager, Helmy Toulan, attacked the critics after his humiliating defeat against Saudi Al Hilal 0-3 in the first leg of Zayed’s Cup quarter-final on Saturday.

“I’m realistic; I am not good at making up my words. Al Hilal can win AFC Champions League, CAF Champions league and even the Egyptian League!” Toulan said to ON Sport.

“I won’t accept any criticisms that would harm my players as I have high hopes on the second leg,” Toulan said.

“I trust my players and I am confident that they will do their best,” Toulan added.

Ittihad Alexandria’s mission became harder after the 0-3 loss in Saudi Arabia. The second leg will take place at Alexandria stadium on Monday.

“Don’t forget that the team included new 11 players to the squad; it’s very difficult to find the harmony in a short period,” Toulan added.

Ittihad Alexandria reached this stage after defeating Esperance Tunis and Zamalek in the past rounds.
