CAIRO_20 February 2019: Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, revealed on Wednesday that the team defenders had a great game and managed to stop Bayern Munich strikers despite the absence of their defender, Virgil Van Dijk.

“It was a clean sheet without the big man (Van Dijk). A lot of people wouldn't have expected that.” Klopp told press.

The Dutch defender picked up three yellow cards at the group stage and he is suspended from the first leg in Liverpool.

Klopp picked Joel Matip and Fabinho to start the game and they had a good game and managed to break all Bayern Munich attempts to score.

Klopp added “The defending was good. A lot of things were really good. It was an intense game for both sides. It was not a game we will remember in 20 years."

Liverpool hosted German giants, Bayern Munich, at UEFA Champions League round of 16 first leg and the game ended with a goalless draw despite the chances both teams had created.

The second leg is scheduled on March 13 in Munich.
