CAIRO – 18 February 2019: Ismaily defender, Baher El Mohamady, revealed on Monday that he will do everything to make it to Egypt squad to 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt.

“Wearing the national team jersey adds a great value to any player and I want to be among the national team squad that will participate at African Cup of Nations at home.” El Mohamady revealed on Monday.

El Mohamady established himself as one of the key players at Egypt manager, Javier Aguirre’s squad and he had a sensational performance with the team at 2019 African Cup of Nations’ Qualifiers.

El Mohamady added “We want to win the competition after losing the final in 2017 but playing at home will put us under more pressure to win the title.”

Egypt is the most successful nation in the history of the competition as Egypt has won a record of seven titles including three in a row between 2006 and 2010.
Egypt hosted four African Cup of Nations' tournaments in 1959, 1974, 1986 and 2006 and they failed to achieve the title only in 1974.

Asked about his future, he said “I want to play in Europe especially at the Premier League, it is my dream and I hope to achieve it one day.”
