CAIRO – 13 February 2019: Bayern Munich chairman, Karl Heinz-Rummenigge, revealed on Wednesday that his team is not afraid from Liverpool and their Egyptian star, Mohamed Salah.

Rummenigge believes that Bayern left back, David Alaba, will be able to stop the Egyptian winger when they meet at CAF Champions League round of 16.

“He is a brilliant player on the right side, but we have David Alaba as a left-back, who is also extremely fast. We have complete confidence in David who is one of the best defenders in the world.” Rummenigge told Sportbild.

The Champions League draw put Liverpool against Bayern Munich; the first game is scheduled on February 19 in Liverpool and the second leg will be played two weeks later in Germany.

Rummenigge added “The important thing is to score and not just think about defending. This could be the cornerstone for the quarter-finals. Liverpool has shown weakness away from home.”

Liverpool failed to achieve any victory away from home at UEFA Champions League this season as they lost to Napoli, Red Star Belgrade and PSG during the group stage.
