CAIRO - 7 January 2018: Al-Ahly announced on Sunday night that they have reached an agreement with Emirati club, Al Ain, to sign their Egyptian winger, Hussein El Shahat.

"I owe a lot to Al Ain and the club fans, it has been an amazing year and I will never forget these great moments." El -Shahat told Al Ain official website.

El Shahat joined Al Ain from Misr el-Makasa in January 2018 and since then he established himself as a key player at Al Ain squad.

He led the club to achieve the double, League title and the President's Cup title, for the first time in the history of the club and El Shahat has been named the best player in the League.

El Shahat also led his team to play at FIFA Club World Cup Final when they lost 4-1 to European giants, Real Madrid.

El Shahat added" It is like a dream come true, I want to thank everyone who helped me to join Al-Ahly."

Shahat has not been reticent about his support for Al-Ahly or that his dream is to wear the red devils jersey since his time at el-Makasa and he was spotted in July 2017 supporting Al-Ahly with his family from El-Salam Stadium when Al-Ahly defeated NA Hussein Dey at the Arab Club Championship.

El Shahat continued "I have rejected many European offers because Al-Ahly is my childhood club and it has been my dream since I started playing football to wear Al-Ahly jersey."

El-Shahat joined his new teammates on Monday at the training sessions under the new manager, Martin Lasarte, and the player was ruled out of the club squad that will face Smouha on Tuesday night at the League.
