CAIRO - 25 December 2018: Wadi Degla Clubs celebrated the PSA World Rankings announcement of the prominent Wadi Degla Squash player Raneem El-Weleily as the Women’s World’s no.1. EL-Weleily was granted an honorary trophy during a press conference attended by Head of the Squash Federation, Assem Khalifa, Captain Karim Darwish, Head of Sports sector in Wadi Degla, and Hussein Abaza, CEO of CIB, the official sponsor of WD’s Darwish Squash Academy.

El Weleily started her successful career with WD back in 2013, where she continued to obtain many titles to be added to the club’s path as well as contribute to Egypt’s position as a leader of the squash game.

In season 2015-16 El Weleily became the first Egyptian and Arab woman to top the world ranking in an individual sport. Additionally, she managed to beat Nicole David, becoming the world champion, which has led her to end the latter’s nine-year reign of PSA’s rankings.

El Weleily’s latest season starting 2017, witnessed many titles reaped by the suash player including El Gouna Open, World Open, US Squash Open, and China Open, leading her to regaining the title ending El Sherbini’s 31-month reign.
