CAIRO – 5 December 2018: Al-Ahly will host El-Gouna on Wednesday night at El Salam Stadium for a game postponed from the seventh fixture.
Al-Ahly suffered a tough period as they lost the CAF Champions League and were knocked out from the 16th round of the Arab Club Championship in two weeks; these results cost French manager, Patrice Carteron, his job.
Carteron was succeeded by his assistant, Mohamed Youssef.
Changes inside the team started to pay off as the club returned to the right track and defeated Petrojet 1-0 at the league thanks to Ahmed el-Sheikh's goal.
“It will be a tough game against El-Gouna and I have much respect for them. However, we should not lose more points at the upcoming games,” Youssef stated.
Al-Ahly defenders, Salif Coulibally and Mohamed Hany, returned to the team squad after they missed Petrojet's game for injury but Youssef is expected to keep Karim Nedved and Ahmed Alaa who replaced them against Petrojet.
Al-Ahly’s expected squad against El-Gouna clash consists of:
Goalkeepers: Sherif Ekramy
Defenders: Ahmed Alaa, Karim Nedved, Saad Samir, Ayman Ashraf
Midfielders: Hesham Mohamed, Amr el-Solia , Walid Soliman, Ahmed el-Sheikh, Nasser Maher
Forwards: Walid Azaro
The game will start at 8:00 p.m. (CLT).
