CAIRO – 2 December 2018: Al-Ahly announced on Saturday, Dec. 1 that they have reached an agreement with Wadi Degla to sign their midfielder, Mohamed Mahmoud, to join the club for the next four and a half years starting from January.

Mahmoud, 20, shined with Degla this season scoring two goals at four games and he joined the national team under Mexican manager, Javier Aguirre.

“It is a great step for me and I will do everything I can to help the team achieve titles,” Mahmoud told press after signing his contract.

Saturday night was a great night for Al-Ahly fans who watched their team defeat Petrojet 1-0 at the league thanks to Ahmed el-Sheikh's goal, and later they knew that their team added one of the best talents at the league to their squad.

“We had many chances to score more goals but at the end we achieved victory which is the most important thing at this stage after the tough time we had,” Al-Ahly caretaker manager, Mohamed Youssef, told press after the game.

On the other hand, Al-Ahly players started their preparations for El-Gouna clash at the league set to take place on Wednesday, Dec. 5.
