PORT SAID, Egypt, Nov 14 (MENA) - Port Said Governor Adel el Ghadban met on Wednesday with the delegation of the Egyptian Handball Federation (EHF), led by EHF President Hesham Nasr, to discuss preparations for hosting the 16th Men’s Mediterranean Handball Championship for players born in 2002, which will be held in Port Said during the period from February 17 to 24, 2019.

The Port Said governor welcomed hosting such major sport event in the governorate, saying that he has assigned all executive bodies to offer all support and facilities needed for the success of the championship which will be held in the governorate for the first time.

Ghadban asserted that Port Said is completely ready to host all local and international championships, thanks to its high standard sports infrastructure, citing the governorate’s Sports City.

The championship represents a great opportunity for promoting tourism in the governorate at the international arena, as delegations from 11 countries from world continents will participate in the event.

The Mediterranean Handball Championship will see the participation of the largest number of teams for the first time throughout its history with 11 countries taking part including France, Turkey, Montenegro, Italy, Romania, Tunisia, Morocco and Greece along with Saudi Arabia and the UAE which will take part in it at the invitation of the Mediterranean Handball Confederation and the organizing committee.
