CAIRO – 10 November 2018: Al-Ahly’s legend, Mohamed Aboutrika, tweeted after the match congratulating ES Tunis.

Al-Ahly lost to ES Tunis in CAF Champions League’s final 0-3 (4-3 on aggregate) at Rades stadium on Friday night.

“Who won the trophy deserves it; Congratulations to Esperance the third African title in their Centennial,” Aboutrika tweeted after his former club loses their second final in a row.

“Our beloved club, Al-Ahly, needs a pause for a better return both at the administrative and technical level; the best is yet to come.” Aboutrika added.

Al-Ahly’s other legend, Wael Gomaa, analyzed the loss in a different way. He appeared at Bein Sports network as he works as a pundit.

“Al-Ahly has been defeated before the game even starts as the officials in Egypt didn’t support the team as happened in Tunisia with Esperance,” Gomaa said.

“The absence of main players played an important role in the loss. Look at the squad; there is no spirit and you feel that they are not confident at all,” Gomaa attacked the players.

“The match statistics showed Esperance’s domination in the game; they shot 13 times but Al-Ahly tried once in 90 minutes. This is Al-Ahly’s worst match this season,” Gomaa concluded.
