CAIRO – 16 October 2018: Egypt defeated eSwatini 2-0 on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at the 2019 African Cup of Nations’ qualifiers.

Egypt national team manager, Javier Aguirre, picked Hussein el-Shahat to replace Mohamed Salah who missed Egypt's journey to eSwatini due to his injury.

Egyptian defense were under pressure at the first 10 minutes of the game and the home team had two clear chances to score but Egypt’s goalkeeper, Mohamed el-Shenawy, stopped all their attempts to score.

Egypt defender, Ahmed Hegazi, opened the score for his team after 18 minutes from the start by a header after he received a wonderful cross from Amr Warda.

Marwan Mohsen added the second goal at the second half after he dribbled two eSwatini defenders and put the ball in the back of the net to secure Egypt’s third victory at the group.

Egypt reached 9 points and they hope for Tunisian victory over Niger at the other group game to secure qualifucation to 2019 African Cup of Nations.

Egypt’s remaining games at the group will be against Niger in Niamey before hosting their Arab rivals, Tunisia, in the qualifiers’ last game.
