CAIRO – 3 October 2018: Pyramids satellite Sports channel stopped its broadcast on Tuesday two months after being launched in August. The channel posted a tweet that says, “In solidarity with the suffering of co-workers in Pyramids satellite channel from harassment, the satellite channel will stop its broadcast, with apology to our loyal viewers”.

The general manager of Pyramids Sports, Osama El Sheikh, said the channel stopped broadcast due to technical difficulties with the satellite.

El Sheikh added that current attempts are being made to re-launch the channel, refuting all reports of an expected closure of the channel and employees’ laid off, “No such a thing exists, we protect our staff,” added El Sheikh in press statements.

Recent rumors alleged that the channel owners will stop the broadcast and fire the employees after they – the owners- has terminated the channel’s contract with Presentation advertising agency, the main sponsorship of the Egyptian Football League.
