Egypt's Zamalek settled for a 0-0 draw with Libyan side Ahli Tripoli in Tunisia, moving top of their African Champions League group on Tuesday.

The first real chance of the match came for the White Knights; a low driven cross from Moruf Yusuf found the unmarked Shikabala, who somehow missed an easy tap-in.

The game then cooled off due to Zamalek’s defensive approach, with Tarek Hamed playing his usual role as a holding midfielder to protect the back four and Yusuf playing as a box-to-box midfielder.

On the half hour-mark, Moayed’s dribbled past three Zamalek defenders and hit the crossbar, much to the Egyptians’ relief.

Later in the match, Shikabala taken off for Fathi, who made an instant impact in the final 10 minutes of the game to send Stanley 1-on-1 with the goalkeeper, but the latter failed to hit the back of the net.

Zamalek’s next match in the competition will be against group favorites USM Alger, in early June.
