CAIRO – 9 August 2018: The UEFA announced on Thursday the nominees for the last season awards and Liverpool Egyptian winger, Mohamed Salah, has been nominated for the UEFA Champions League forward of the season award.




Salah has been shortlisted for the award alongside Argentinean Winger, Lionel Messi, and Portuguese striker, Cristiano Ronaldo.



The Egyptian winger had a sensational season with his club, Liverpool, having scored 44 goals last season, including 32 goals in the league to be the Premier League top goal scorer.

Salah also had a great campaign at the UEFA Champions League last season, having scored 10 goals for Liverpool at Champions League including five goals at knockout stages.
Salah goals led Liverpool to the Champions League final in Kiev where they lost 3-1 to Real Madrid.

Ronaldo won his nomination after leading Real Madrid to their third consecutive Champions League title, having scored 13 goals during Real’s campaign. He won the UEFA Champions League top goal scorer award.

Messi and his teammates in Barcelona were knocked out of the competition at the quarter finals by AS Roma. However, the Argentinean won his nomination for his sensational performances at the early stages of the competition.

The winner will be announced on August 30 at the UEFA ceremony in Monaco where the 2019 Champions League draw will be held.
