CAIRO – 8 August 2018: Al-Masry defender Eslam Salah suffered a partial tear at the anterior cruciate ligament during Al-Ahly game on Tuesday night at the second fixture of the Egyptian League.

Salah tangled with Al-Ahly’s Mido Gaber during the second half but he decided to continue the game despite his injury. However, he was forced to leave the pitch as he could not handle the pain.

Al-Masry will miss their captain for the next six months.

Al-Ahly defeated Al-Masry 2-0 on Tuesday night at Borg El Arab stadium thanks to two goals from Salif Coulibaly and Walid Azarro.

Al-Ahly players reconciled their fans after a frustrating start at the opening game of the season against Ismaily that ended with a 1-1 draw.

Al-Masry are preparing for the game against Petrojet on Tuesday at the third fixture of the League.

Al-Masry gained three points from two games at the League as they achieved a 1-0 victory over Al-Gouna at the opening game of the league.
