CAIRO – 8 August 2018: Liverpool fans sent a warm message of support to their German goalkeeper, Loris Karius, at his first appearance at Anfield since the UEFA Champions League Final in May.

Karius played the last 20 minutes of Liverpool’s friendly game against Torino which ended with 3-1 victory for the hosts.

Karius, who was the starting goalkeeper for Liverpool last season, had a poor performance at UEFA Champions League Final against Real Madrid.

He had two silly mistakes that cost his team two goals at the game which ended 3-1 for Real Madrid.

The goalkeeper was happy with Liverpool fans’ reception, posting on his Instagram account: “Thank you Anfield for this reception!”

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, was happy with fans’ reception to his goalkeeper; he said, “It was a really big gesture. I loved it, to be honest. We showed tonight a really nice face and I liked it. It helps not only Loris; it helps Alisson as well, that you can see this is a very special place.”

Liverpool signed Brazilian goalkeeper, Allison, from Roma this summer and he is expected to take Karius’ position as Liverpool starting goalkeeper. =
