CAIRO – 7 August 2018: Borg El-Arab Stadium will host the Egyptian League's clash between Al-Ahly and Al-Masry at the second fixture of the Egyptian League.

Al-Ahly started their run to defend their title with a 1-1 draw against Ismaily. Al-Ahly were 1-0 down util the last seconds of the game when Mohamed Sherif equalized the score to grant Al-Ahly their first point.

On the other hand, Al-Masry had a better start as they achieved their first victory over El-Gouna thanks to Mohamed Koffi’s goal.

Hossam Hassan, Al-Ahly former striker and Al-Masry's current manager, faced Al-Ahly in 20 games. Hassan achieved four victories, lost 10 games and six games ended with a draw.

Al-Ahly French manager, Patrice Carteron, will miss Eslam Mohareb’s services for injury but Walid Soliman, Ahmed Fathy and Mido Gaber are ready for the game after missing the first fixture for injury.

“It is a tough game against a world class manager. All teams hope to achieve good results against Al-Ahly but we will do everything to win the game,” Carteron told press ahead of the game.

Carteron faced Hassan once in 2016 when the French was leading Wadi Degla and the game ended with a goalless draw.

The game starts on 8 p.m.
